Описание к видео N.R.B.Q. "21-50 to Headquarters" written by Terry Adams w/Tribute to 50's T.V. show Highway Patrol.

21-50 to Headquarters written by Terry Adams.

Pictured is the owners brochure that came with the 1959 Trixon "Speedfire" Eight Piece Drum Set purchased in1959 by my parents (Alex & Melva Macham) for my older brother Dana from Norma & Dusty Neely's Carousel Music Store located at 2510 Colby ave. in Everett, Washington.

This Trixon "Speedfire" was my (second drum set) eventually having it passed down to me in1970 on my Birthday at age thirteen. Thanks to my Mom, Pop and Dan. I really loved playing this Trixon set, it was so unique and unusual. Band auditions in 1972/73 school year proved to be quite memorable.

My first band audition with the band Clearview turned out to be a real hoot!!! Bass player John Fischer started right in asking me if the bass drum had fallen from the sky? Then the guitar player Steve Newton asked if the bass drum had been left in the sun too long? It was this kind of banter that made me realize the special uniqueness of my new band mates personalities! Turns out their banter was a great ice breaker causing the audition to turn out wayy funnier than I ever expected!

This Trixon "Speedfire" drum kit came with two "Trixon brand" double beater foot pedals with a single elliptical shaped bass drum featuring side by side (Feet - Together) designed foot peddles. Very unusual. Also, stemming out of the bass drum was a bar that held the snare drum, no need for a snare stand. The snare was a thin piccolo type size, snare drum that was about 4 1/2 Inches thick. The most unusual feature for this Trixon set was the tom-tom set up. Having you play them starting "High to Low" from (Right to Left). Rather than from "High to Low" (Left to Right). Not to forget that absolutely "Huge" floor tom as you can see. Forces you to play this huge floor tom with a lighter touch since it was just really so much louder than the rest of the drum's. Finally had me realizing that I was to play this set with more finesse rather than using power if I wanted to match up the volume equally that were produced by the tom-tom drums individually.

What a challenge!!!

This West German made drum set really was a novelty!

About N.R.B.Q.

Such a wacky, fun filled innovative band N.R.B.Q. is inserting Broaderick Crawford's voice within the song is just marvelous!

It took me a few times of listening to this to realize that this song relates to the old 1950's hit television series "Highway Patrol" starring Broderick Crawford. I used to watch this show when I was just a kid. I had to laugh at my self for having a real, "Duh" Moment. 21-50 to Headquarters" was Broderick's line when he'd use his radio to call into headquarters.. it's turns out that it really is Broderick's voice in the song of course. NRBQ, you just never know what the heck they're gonna do. "Atsa my Band!"

21-50 to Headquarters is from the N.R.B.Q. record album "Atsa my Band"

As a musician I am always on the look out for something new (to me) and interesting musically.

Back in 1992, Wednesday, July first, My wife and I took a little 150 mile trek to Minneapolis to see NRBQ at the First Avenue. We got there early enough to be second in line. While we were waiting a cab pulled up to the curb and here comes Terry, Here comes Tom and here comes Joey! Right up to the front door! Guess there wasn't enough room in the cab for Big Al. Sorry Al.. so, all we knew was that the front door intercom system had really bad reception because we had tried to talk through it earlier and some guy came out and told us "the doors don't open til 8". We watched as Terry pushed the buzzer and of course the guy comes back with... CHHHHHH blah blah blah and you can't hear what the heck he said. Terry says.. "it's NRBQ let us in" More CHHHH BLAH BLAH. Terry turns to Joey and Tommy and says "what did they say?" Joey says "I don't know". My wife (knowing they're the band) says with a smile, "they said "the doors don't open till eight "man" of course that's when the banter began to fly. Terry say's "well then I guess we just don't play" so naturally we quickly invite the band to play at our house 150 miles away! lol Thanks NRBQ for that awesome interaction! We thought Terry might have used some of my wife's joke earlier in the show that night!!! But, we just can't be sure... all we know is that, she's TERRYbleee happy that he just might have! Thanks Terry,

I guess their lead guitarist Big Al Anderson was living up to his name (Big Al) which lent him to catch the next cab.
