Siddhartha Belmannu: Raag Lalit

The very talented, Bangalore-based hindustani vocalist, Siddhartha Belmannu was the featured artiste on Kishima Arts Foundation's First Light series held at Bangalore International Centre, Domlur.
This time round we added the role of a "Sutradhar" or Interlocutor, very tactfully performed by Siddhartha's close friend and compatriot, Anirudh Aithal, a wonderful hindustani vocalist in his own right.
Siddhartha was accompanied by Sumith S Naik on tabla and Sameer Havaldar on harmonium. Tanpura support was provided by Chethan Thungabhadrappa and Srilakshmi Belmannu.
He began his recital with two traditional compositions in Raag Lalit, one of his most cherished morning raags, followed by a drut bandish composed by Pt. Jagannathbuwa Purohit.
