He’s also taught copyright history at NYU and advised startups on corporate and intellectual property matters. Evan brings valuable insights on how Edtech companies, no matter their size, can efficiently address legal risks and build strong legal foundations.

Naomi May, an attorney with the global law firm Cooley LLP, where she works with a dedicated team that represents hundreds of edtech companies and other organizations throughout the education ecosystem. She is passionate about translating complex regulatory schemes into practical strategies for implementation. Naomi’s expertise spans commercial contracting strategy, government enforcement actions, compliance with complex state and federal regulations, and advising on data privacy and educational benefits programs. Prior to joining Cooley, Naomi worked at public and private institutions, including the College of William & Mary, and brings nearly two decades of experience in edtech, dating back to her early work in migrating courses online and developing custom learning software.
