exploring the abandoned cheshire lounge pub-restaurant

today we explored the once thriving and beautiful pub-restaurant called cheshire lounge previously called the nag's head inn.

The pub and the surrounding land were purchased by Manchester's Albert's restaurant group back in 2017 But ever since then, they have been locked in a legal
battle with National Highways over the access road to the site.
The pub sits on a patch of land that used to be accessible via a dog-leg junction.
The firm had bought the pub, which has been derelict since 2014, along with its car park, gardens and an adjoining field in June 2017.
But, nearly six years later, Albert's still had no legal right of access to the site on Chester Road, due to various legal complications relating
to a compulsory purchase order in place on the original access road.
Castlefield Property, Albert's development arm, has been awarded nearly £1m in compensation for the delays to an access to the site.
National Highways has been ordered to pay compensation to Castlefield Property following a tribunal hearing held in Manchester.
Albert's who own popular restaurants in Didsbury, Manchester, Worsley and Wigan, had plans granted to develop a restaurant on the site in 2017.
But they were left in a literal no man's land over the access.

skipping foward six years later and with the tribunal ruling now made, the owners of Albert's are hoping to finally look to the future.
They now plan to build a new Albert's restaurant and events space on the site and the derelict pub will be demolished.
