Career Chat with Security Forces (Air Base Ground Defense)

Описание к видео Career Chat with Security Forces (Air Base Ground Defense)

We are LIVE with A1C Matthew Dambrosia, SrA James Carillo, SSgt Daniel Dikin and SSgt Travis Durand to learn about all things Security Forces (Air Base Ground Defense).

The duties of Airmen in Security Forces consist of ensuring on-base safety, conducting routine patrols, and monitoring crime scenes. Specialities within this career include Combat Arms Training (CA) and Counter-small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-sUAS).

Small, unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) have become an increasing threat to our bases, easily evading detection and allowing enemies to interfere with base operations. To protect against these hazards, Defenders operate C-sUA systems to detect and destroy sUAS, including electro-optical sensors, radar systems, weapons and directed energy.

Every Defender must be properly skilled and equipped to handle any situation and to uphold a high level of security on base. Combat Arms Instructors ensure Defenders are proficient and skilled in their ability to use weapons when an emergency arises. These instructors operate firing ranges, conduct marksmanship training for all Air Force personnel and perform maintenance on a wide array of weapons at their assigned bases. To learn more, visit the Security Forces career page.

Have questions about what that’s like? Our Airmen will be available throughout the hour-long session to answer them!

*Dambrosia, Carillo, Dikin and Durand will be available to answer your questions in the comments and live chat until 3 p.m. CT on the day of the event.
