New Cash Transfer Rules | RBIના નવા કેશ ટ્રાન્સફર નિયમો | Ek Vaat Kau

In this Episode of Ek Vaat Kau, Goonj Thakkar explains the new Cash Remittance Rules by RBI released on 24 July 2024.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has introduced new rules for cash transactions via NEFT and IMPS, effective from November 2024.
For cash payouts, banks must keep records of the beneficiary's name and address.
Cash pay-ins require depositor registration with a verified phone number and a self-certified valid photo ID.
Additional authentication factors, such as Aadhaar OTP or phone number OTP, will be necessary.
Details of the remitter must be included in IMPS/NEFT transaction messages.
The rules align with Section 269ST of the Income Tax Act, which prohibits receiving more than Rs. 2 lakh per day in cash.
Cash payments exceeding Rs. 2 lakh are illegal and must be made through account payee cheques, account payee bank drafts, or electronic clearing.
The Rs. 2 lakh per day limit also applies to cash-based fund transfers via NEFT/IMPS.
