Trees are critical city infrastructure, from cooling the air and providing shade to improving air quality. Trees are essential to building a healthy economy and environment. As cities increasingly acknowledge them as critical infrastructure, Bloomberg Associates’ Jacob Koch outlines the many benefits of tree planting and our collaboration with the Chicago Department of Public Health to build a new data and mapping tool that is identifying communities where tree planting is needed most.
