For over 40 years, many Baltimore youth residents have worked squeegeeing car windshields along highways and intersections to earn a living. After an incident involving a motorist in July 2022, the city convened the community to find a city-wide solution. Over 100 participants, including Baltimore youth, police, CEOs, nonprofits, etc., met every week to create a system that involves alternative employment opportunities for youth and disallowed zones for squeegeeing.
