The Dumbarton Rail Bridge was built more than a century ago to service a fast & direct rail service between the East Bay and the peninsula.
The Hetch Hetchy pipelines were built to carry fresh water from Sierra Nevada to San Francisco Bay over a distance of 167 miles. These two historic structures cross the bay right here at the tri-city area.

Note: the flying area is inside the restricted airspace of Palo Alto airport. FAA authorization required before flying.
