This walkthrough shows promotion from 4th to 1st division, 1st place in all divisions, Cup winner in all divisions and top scorer prize in all divisions!

When you start your player has Fitness = 90, Skill = 10 and Manager = 71. You need to train to boost these three things, and during training you have three shots at the goal every time. If you score this will increase your skill, while not scoring at the training and in the matches will decrease your skill. If you do not score your skill will drop to nothing and you will be on the bench most of the time in the matches. You lose fitness for every chance you take in a match, and you need to train to gain fitness again and impress the manager. The maximum you can get for Fitness, Skill and Manager is 99.

You play in a league with the best teams from the European countries, and during the matches you can either get subbed or get injured. If you get injured your fitness will drop a lot, and you will not be able to play the next many matches, you can only do training to boost up your fitness until you are able to play again.

If you do not train or your fitness is poor during comeback from an injury then you will not get many free runs with a chance for scoring during the matches.

The teams has “skill” and “moral” and most of the other teams will be better than your team, so you have to boost up your player, so he can get a lot of free runs and chances for scoring, because when you score a lot of goals your teams moral will increase a lot, and then you can defeat the teams with better skills.

When a match is played you see it from bird perspective and you only see the ball, but if you get through with a chance, the perspective will change to the same as during training where you have to take a shot at the goal. When you have to take a shot you can be placed all kind of different places all over the field, and it works by crosshairs going up and down in front of the player for a limited time, and when the aim is at the goal you press fire, you decide if you want to shoot high or low by the time you hold down the fire button. Other players on your team can also score goals.

On your profile there is “Transfer rumours” but I have never been transferred, so I do not know if it is actually possible to be sold to another club in this game.

The controls are working surprisingly well, once you master them it is possible to score from whenever you are at the field. The gameplay is simple, but very solid, and addictive with lots of lots of hours of playing – In every season you have to play 30 league matches and 6 cup matches!

Some minor complains is that you can not choose which team you are playing for, you just get a random team when the game starts, so if that team is totally unacceptable you have to load the game again. There is no saving or password system, so if you play on a real Spectrum you have to do savings by multiface or whatever back-up interface you have. Some unerased / extra ball might occur after shooting at the goal.

This is a football game with many similarities to "Footballer of the Year" from 1986, so if you liked that one you should check this one out. It is not Fifa 18 but it is a very well programmed football game, with clubs and players from present time, for the good old ZX Spectrum 48k from 1982. Rating = 88%.
