A Mysuru-Darbhanga Bhagmati Express train collided with the rear of a stationary goods train at Kavaraipettai railway station in Tamil Nadu on Friday. A fire broke out in two coaches, and at least 13 coaches derailed. While several passengers sustained injuries, no fatalities have been reported.

Tiruvallur District Collector T Prabhushankar confirmed that rescue operations are underway, with the proximity to the railway station allowing for a swift response by emergency teams.
