Introduction to Supportive Housing: Part I of Permanent Supportive Housing Series

Описание к видео Introduction to Supportive Housing: Part I of Permanent Supportive Housing Series

Permanent supportive housing is a successful homelessness intervention that combines affordable housing with voluntary support services that address the needs of homeless households. Services are designed to support households to live independently, be successful tenants, and access health care, treatment, and employment programs. According to The National Alliance to End Homelessness, permanent supportive housing has been shown to help homeless households achieve long-term stability and improve their health.

Because affordable housing developers often do not provide supportive services and supportive services providers typically do not develop housing, permanent supportive housing requires partnerships. This can be difficult in rural areas where service providers and developers may be located in different communities.
