#59 “Healing trauma with Animals” featuring Karlonty Wallace - Grace Lauren Taylor

Описание к видео #59 “Healing trauma with Animals” featuring Karlonty Wallace - Grace Lauren Taylor

This week we will be discussing the topic of: Healing Trauma Through Animal Companionship. Our guest this week is Karlonty Wallace.
Karlonty is an advocate for healing and empowerment. Her journey began in the nurturing environment of a home daycare, which grew into a bustling operation. However, the demands eventually led to a health setback, prompting me to explore her true calling.
She founded Pawsative Partnerships LLC with a specific mission - to help women of faith heal from trauma. Their approach is unique, leveraging the healing power of the human-canine bond. They also encourage professional therapy as an integral part of their journey.
Karonty’s educational background includes an associate's degree in Marketing Sales Management from James A. Rhodes State College (2008), which equips her with the skills to make a difference.
At Pawsative Partnerships LLC, they are committed to nurturing and empowering women on their path to healing, strength, and resilience. Spending time in a mirror, also, really work on forgiving themselves as well as that person. Forgiveness is not about the individual and not agreeing with what they did. But, Forgiveness is about releasing ourselves to walk in freedom.

Animals can help trauma survivors in several ways:
Emotional Support: Animals provide unconditional love and companionship, which can reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness.
Stress Reduction: Interaction with animals can lower stress hormones and increase the release of oxytocin, promoting a sense of calm and well-being.
Routine and Responsibility: Caring for an animal can give trauma survivors a sense of purpose and structure, helping them establish a daily routine.
Physical Activity: Activities like walking a dog encourage physical exercise, which can improve mood and overall health.
Non-Judgmental Presence: Animals offer a non-judgmental presence, allowing survivors to feel safe and accepted without fear of criticism or rejection.
Therapeutic Interventions: Animal-assisted therapy, involving trained animals, can help in therapeutic settings to facilitate emotional expression and healing.
