Kabashimamachi's "Taikoyama Kokkodesho" symbolizes a boat being carried by the waves. It is one of the most beloved performances at Kunchi, but only appears once every seven years. Story has it that the idea for the performance originated in Osaka; trader's from Kansai taught the locals their performance and then they gave it their own unique twist.
