Final Fantasy 7 - Forgotten City walkthrough (all items, chests, fish / missing staircase explained)

How to complete the Forgotten City / Forgotten Capital section of the original Final Fantasy 7, bringing about the end of Disc 1.

If you are stuck in the Forgotten City, where at the fish location there is no staircase leading onwards, make sure you sleep in the beds first: 00:01:57
