Shostakovich- Prelude and fugue in D flat, op. 87 no. 15

The fugue is the definition of hellish chaos. The deeper meaning of the fugue lies in the fact that even the seemingly uncontrollable devilish nature abides by a set of laws and has its rules. To me personally, this music portrays a picture of unbearable challenges and tremendous difficulties crushed upon an individual who happens to be in a very specific psychological state. The catch however, is the fact that it is an individual who finds satirical wit and sarcasm in grotesque and the dirtiest elements of chaos. An individual who is powerful enough to laugh in the face of devilish chaos, mock the atrocities, thereby conquering and destroying everything in their path to become a stronger, braver and inspiring figure.
