Thattai Recipe:

Rice Flour - 1 Cup
Butter - 1 tbsp
Besan Flour - 2 tbsp
Red Chilli Powder - ½ tsp
Turmeric Powder - ¼ tsp
Asafoetida - A Pinch
Curry Leaves (chopped) - 2 sprigs
White Sesame Seeds - 1 tsp
Chana Dal (soaked) - 1 tbsp
Oil - For Frying
Salt - ½ tsp
Water - ½ Cup

Cooking Instructions:

1. Combine the ingredients in a bowl and incorporate the butter to get a crumbly texture.

2. Add water a little at a time to get a smooth and firm dough.
Spread a dry, clean cloth. Dive the dough into roundels and pat each roundel with greased hands to form a disc, not too thin.

3. Deep fry in medium hot oil until crispy and brown.

Cooking Tips:

1. Wash and soak the channa dal for 1 hour.
