A Look at the Issues and the Motherboard's Custom Chips

In my previous video, which covered the vinyl dust cover recently created for the Astrocade, I accidentally zapped my Bally console with a static shock through the cartridge port. You can watch that video here:

Here I show some of the minimal diagnosis that I have done to the system. I run the built-in programs Checkmate, Calculator and Scribbling to show that they work and that the video hasn't been affected by the static shock. I also briefly use AstroBASIC to test each key on the keypad and to show the debounce of each key.

After I talk about some of the programs running, I show the Astrocade's motherboard. I zoom in on the custom Data, I/O and Address chips. I talk about some of the problems that the system might have and how they may be fixed.

During the video I allude to showing some of my vast Astrocade collection while I dig through it to find another working astrocade. I will show this in an upcoming video.
