What is the Degree of a Vertex? | Graph Theory

Описание к видео What is the Degree of a Vertex? | Graph Theory

What is the degree of a vertex? We go over it in this math lesson! In a graph, vertices are often connected to other vertices. Let's say we have a vertex called V. Then, the degree of V, denoted deg(V) or deg V, is the number of edges incident with V. This is equal to the number of vertices adjacent to V. So let's say V is joined by 3 edges to 3 other vertices. Then deg V = 3 because V is incident with 3 edges, or equivalently, V is adjacent to 3 vertices.
