The Best Primer To Paint A Aluminum Jon Boat With

My son and I bought this used 14' aluminum boat a couple months ago for 400$, the only problems was the paint on the boat. So for the last month, we have been stripping paint, glue and all sorts of stuff off of the boat. This past week we were finally ready to start priming and painting. After several Google searches and getting some advice from a Tiny Boat Facebook group, we settled on Kem-Kromik as the primer.

Kem Kromik Universal Metal Primer

KEM KROMIK UNIVERSAL METAL PRIMER is a rust inhibiting, low VOC, modified alkyd resin primer designed for use over iron and steel substrates. Can be used as a "universal" primer under high-performance topcoats and is also suitable as a "barrier" coat over conventional coatings which would normally be attacked by strong solvents in high-performance coatings.

Corrosion resistant
Can be topcoated with epoxies and urethanes
Apply down to 40°F

The Primer covered the boat very well and we should be able to apply a top coat of paint in the next week or two depending on the weather.
