Aam Turaaz is a lyric writer in Bollywood. His first song release on  Oct 11, 2016. He is one of the 21st century young lyricist.

Sheikh Mohammad Turaaz who has been recently on the headlines for his songs in 'Udta Punjab'. This song has attained a lot of popularity lately and is a treat to listen to. The man behind these marvellous lyrics is Shekhar Ravjiani's brother - Mohammad Turaaz who hails from Muzaffarnagar. I met him at his home and had the chance to interview him, where he tells us about how he came into writing such lovely lyrics

A big thank you to Pooja, Mukti and others who put me in touch with Turaaz. It was a great experience talking to him. This video was out of my own curiosity about song writing from a Mumbai perspective. I wanted to know why Indian composers are not as innovative as the international ones. I also wanted to know why there isn't any new Gulzar/Jalandhry/Roshan/Kalyanji/Laxmikant working today.

A. M. Turaz from Muzaffarnagar, UP, writes lyrics for a living In the last 2.5 years he has written lyrics for over 800 movies He says he will continue to write lyrics as long as filmmaking exists He adds that writing lyrics in not so easy and you have to be very dedicated to it And then something happened in his life That changed his entire career trajectory He re-connected with a childhood friend His friend was a film director As luck would have it, he cast A. M. Turaz in the first ever Super-30-like film produced in Bollywood, based on mathematician Anand Kumar

What's so surprising about the journey of lyricist A.M. Turaaz from the small village of Bahlolpur in Muzaffarnagar, is that he's never put up of an act, never claimed to do anything beyond what he did. The man who has penned down some of the biggest Bollywood tracks, including Chaha Hai Tu from Chennai Express and Raabta from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, has been a quintessential entertainer all his life.
