Lies of P is a genuinely special souls-like that understands exactly what a Souls game needs to prosper, while managing to do it's own thing to stand out from the crowd. And the area design is absolutely top notch.

My best comparison is that FromSoftware's levels feel like Kingdom Hearts 1 levels, a little more open-ended with a major focus on optional exploration. Whereas Lies of P levels feel like Kingdom Hearts 2 levels, more linear and focused experiences with side paths that don't deviate all that much from progression.

Given I'm a bit open-world fatigued right now, a game like this was right up my alley, and I want to be one of it's biggest champions!
