CB-CID conducts inquiry with kin of contractor Subramaniam

The CB-CID team probing the death of civil works contractor K.R. Subramaniam held an inquiry with his family members for over five hours at their house in Teachers Colony here on Friday.

A team led by CB-CID Superintendent of Police G. Nagajothi, DSP Sathyamoorthy and others questioned the contractor’s wife Santhi (52), son Sabarish (24), daughter Abinaya (30) and son-in-law Aravind about his business activities, friends, foreign trips and the four-page note allegedly written by him before his death. Subramaniam was found dead at his farm house in Mohanur on May 8. His family and 12 others received four-page letters on the day of his death.

The letters were allegedly written and posted by him on May 6.

His premises were among those searched by the Income Tax sleuths during the crackdown on State Health Minister C. Vijaya Baskar last month.

However, the letter claimed that he had no links with the Minister.
