✍️ TRANSCRIPT:
HubSpot comes with a lot of great features right out of the box, but sometimes you may be looking for something a little more customized. In this video, we show you how to create a customized property that you can use specific for your business in your HubSpot portal, check it out. First thing you wanna do is make sure that you are logged into your HubSpot portal, go over to the Settings menu and scroll down to Properties. Now anytime that you wanna create a custom property, I always advise that you create a Custom Property Group, because a lot of times if you don't have it sectioned out like that it could really get lost within the contact properties or within the company properties. Go to the second tab and click on Groups, and Create Group. Make sure that you've established some sort of naming convention, so we're just gonna use our agency name and just call it Custom, and save that. Now you have a new group and there it is right there. Go back to the Properties, and what we're going to do is we're going to create a television network property by clicking Create Property, this is going to be a contact property. We're going to place this in the Custom Group that we just created. We're going to label this Television Network, and then click Next. Now what we'd like to do is instead of using a single line text, that's what a lot of people would like to start with, we are going to create the Drop-Down Select. This way moving forward, if you have single line text or multi-line text, and people can just type in whatever they want, a lot of times it's going to be very difficult in the future to segment these contacts, or these companies, or these deals, if you have just a you can just type in whatever. It's way too open, so to speak. Let's go ahead and try to segment it as much as possible so that it really just narrows things down. Let's do that by creating Drop-Down Select. We're going to create the following labels, let's do CBS, gonna add a new option, and we're going to add an NBC, and finally we will add in FOX, and Create those. And that's really it. Now that we have this custom property created, we can use it as a filter and filter for only the characters on the NBC hit show The Office, and there they are.
