Lumbee State of the Tribe Full Version July 1 2024

What a great week to celebrate Lumbee Homecoming with such amazing opportunities for our people! Thank you to everyone who attended the State of the Tribe Address. The event brought friends and guest from around the nation. Lumbee Tribal Chairman Lowery shared exciting information about up-and-coming plans for the Lumbee Tribe as well as the expansion of the Lumbee budget. The current budget of 46 million dollars is the largest in Lumbee History. He also shared about the thousands of tribal citizens that the Lumbee Tribe is assisting every day. Over the past year, the Lumbee Tribe assisted more than 29,000 Lumbee citizens. Chairman Lowery also honored Lumbee elder Virgil Lowry at the event. Mr. Virgil is a Union Chapel Elder who is active in his community and church family. He was honored with a drum song and a beaded Eagle Feather.
