A Muslim man from Philadelphia is in custody after he allegedly attempted to murder a police officer.
Officials say the man was apparently inspired by the Islamic State group.
CCTV footage shows the moment 33-year-old police officer Jesse Hartnett was ambushed at point blank range.
Police say the suspect,... 30-year-old Edward Archer, fired more than a dozen times.
Even though Officer Harnett was shot time times, he can be seen exiting his vehicle and chasing after the suspect on foot.
He's in hospital,... in critical, but stable condition.
The authorities say it's too early to say whether Archer,... who traveled to the Middle East a few years ago,... had any direct links to ISIS.
