Sissel Kyrkjebø performing "If I Can Help Somebody" at Norwegian Television in December 2021. It is written by American composer, pianist and song-writer Alma Bazel Androzzo and was first recorded by Turner Layton in 1946. Since then it has been recorded by many other artists including Gracie Fields, Billy Eckstein, Harry Secombe, Doris Day, Mahalia Jackson, Joseph Locke, Liberace and Bryn Terfel. It was also one of Martin Luther King Jr.'s favourite hymns.
