​Maine apni Dadi ke ek purane Dupatte ko lekar yeh gorgeous, high-waisted Fish-Cut Skirt banaya hai. Yeh ek perfect example hai ki kaise hum old fabric ko ek designer look de sakte hain!

​Lining (Astar) Preparation: The lining fabric is folded into a four-fold piece [00:33]. The required length is measured from the high waist to above the knee [00:40].
​Waist and Hip Shaping: To manage the difference between the smaller waist and larger hip, the creator opts to add darts (tucks) to the top part of the fabric rather than cutting it completely [01:07].
​The hip measurement is marked at approximately 11 inches down from the top [01:24].
​Darts are marked to be around 5 inches in length [01:47].
​Waistband and Skirt Length: A 4-inch belt (waistband) will be attached at the top to make it a high-waist skirt [02:34]. The upper panel of the skirt has a final length of 20 inches [02:42].
​Main Fabric Cutting: The two upper panels are cut from the main dupatta fabric, ensuring the direction of the print/design is correct [02:53].
​
​Flared Cut: The lower part of the skirt is cut in an umbrella (circle) style [03:09].
​Fish-Cut Design: To achieve the fish-cut or mermaid effect, the creator intentionally cuts the front pattern smaller and the back pattern larger/deeper [03:15].
​Final Touches: The creator then cuts the lining fabric for the lower section and the main fabric, marking the center to create both the deep and large cuts [04:03].
​The video concludes with the note that the stitching video will be shown in the second part [04:37].
