According to the Hello! Magazine, Charles told a patient receiving treatment for prostate cancer, “Half the problem is detecting it… in time.”

“The great thing is, I think, is they’re getting better and better at dealing with these things. The trouble is there’s always hope down the road. I am sorry about that, it’s so frustrating.”

During a visit to one of the hospital’s acute elderly care wards, the King said to a patient: “This is the terrible thing, as I am discovering already. The bits don’t work so well when you get past 70.”

Charles has been undergoing treatment since the Palace announced that the King had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in February 2024.
