Most people know Max Cavalera as a former member and co-founder of legendary Brazilian metal band Sepultura. He is also responsible for giving us many other bands, such as Nailbomb, Killer Be Killed, Cavalera Conspiracy, Go Ahead And Die, and many more. And, of course, he is the founder and frontman of Soulfly. Soulfly is about to release their thirteenth record called Chama on October 24, 2025 via Nuclear Blast Records.

In this interview, Max discusses Soulfly's upcoming album, Chama. He talks about going into John Aquilino's Platinum Underground Studio to record, and having his son and drummer Zyon Cavalera co-produce the record. Max also talks about the Brazilian tribal spirit that comes through in the music, and how UFC fighter Alex Pereira inspired the latest record.
