In this video, I teambuild around Lugia, the box legendary for Pokemon Silver (as well as Pokemon SoulSilver). Lugia has AMAZING bulk with base 106 HP, 130 defense, and base 154 special defense. It also has excellent speed with base 110, allowing it to outspeed important threats in the meta like base 100s such as Entei, Volcarona, Charizard, Zapdos, etc. and even those that are higher in speed like Mienshao, Nihilego, and Landorus-I. Despite these positives, the big negative is its damage output: a measly base 90 special attack stat. Because of this, Lugia struggles to deal enough damage to pick KO's. However, there are ways to mitigate this thanks to the Weakness Policy item as well as Calm Mind setups. Also, thanks to Multiscale ability, Lugia can tank big initial hits like a Calyrex Shadow Astral Barrage and Recover can also help reset its Multiscale.

Stakataka acts as the "true" restricted in this case (lol). Lugia is a very good partner to Stakataka since it can x4 resist a fighting move like a Close Combat, as well as a good ground attack pivot. With Trick Room, we offer speed control to the team and Lugia can do well since we only have enough speed to outspeed Kyogre (143). Landorus (both forms) also make sense here since they are yet again another flying type pivot as well as a good electric-type attack switch-in for Lugia. Suicune & Entei also make sense since both of them together offer speed control with Tailwind as well as answers to the big meta threats like Zacian, Kyogre, and Calyrex-Shadow Rider. Rillaboom also makes sense as a grass type to round out the FWG (fire, water, grass) core and offer something against Kyogre.
