Hey, everyone! Welcome back to my channel, where I unbox and review the coolest board games. Today, I have a special treat for you: I’m going to show you the classic Mouse Trap game, first published by Ideal in 1963. This game is one of the first mass-produced three-dimensional board games, and it features a hilarious Rube Goldberg machine that you have to build and use to trap your opponents’ mice. Sounds fun, right? Let’s get started!
First, I’m going to open the box and show you what’s inside. There are four plastic mice, a die, a cheese wheel, and a bunch of colorful pieces that make up the mouse trap. There are also instructions and a game board with a path of spaces. The game is for two to four players, and it takes about 30 minutes to play.
The goal of the game is to be the last mouse standing after all the other mice have been trapped by the mouse trap. To do that, you have to move around the board, collect cheese tokens, and avoid landing on the cheese space under the cage. You can also use your cheese tokens to move your opponents to the cheese space, and then turn the crank to launch the mouse trap. If the mouse trap works properly, the cage will fall on the cheese space and capture the mouse. But be careful, because the mouse trap is not always reliable, and it might backfire on you!
The mouse trap is the best part of the game, and it’s really fun to watch it in action. It consists of several steps, such as a boot kicking a bucket, a ball rolling down a chute, a diver jumping into a tub, and so on. You have to build the mouse trap as you play, by landing on the build spaces and adding one or more pieces to the machine. The mouse trap is always assembled in a specified order, and it’s attached to the board by inserting tabs into holes and locking them into place.
As you can see, Mouse Trap is a game of luck, skill, and strategy. It’s also a game of laughter, as you never know what will happen when you turn the crank. Will you catch a mouse, or will you get caught yourself? Will the mouse trap work, or will it malfunction? There’s only one way to find out: play the game and have fun!
I hope you enjoyed this video, and I hope you’ll give Mouse Trap a try. It’s a classic game that has been entertaining generations of players, and it’s still a blast to play today.
