This AAPI Heritage Month I wanted to do something special to uplift Asian voices so I'm doing a series of Thrift Flip Challenges with some of my fellow Asian Sewists and first up is Joanne Sunny K ‪@joannesunnyk‬ ♥️ Joanne is a Korean American sustainable designer and she makes the most beautiful one of a kind pieces!

Thrift Flip Challenge Rules: $10 budget to thrift one or multiple items that we have to flip into a new outfit. In this video, Joanne sent me a very dated two piece set and a little bit of trim to upcycle. I was really inspired by vintage playsuits and ended up making this matching set! I'm really proud of this one because I figure out how to make shorts that look like a mini skirt! Make sure you check out Joanne's video to see what I sent her and what she turned it into!
