What are the reasons for white discharge and blood in the urine?

Description:

Urine is a good indicator of your health. It is normally faint yellow and clear without any specks present. However, due to some condition, you could end up with white particles or even blood in your urine. This would make the urine appear cloudy.

Urinary tract infections (UTI) are one of the common causes of white discharge in urine. UTIs are caused by bacteria which enter the urethra and make their way to the bladder, kidneys or ureter where they multiply and result in an infection. In some cases, viruses, parasites, or fungi could also enter the urinary tract and cause an infection. UTIs can affect both men and women.

Accompanying factors like pain, burning sensation, foul smell etc are indicators of a UTI.

Age: Past the age of 50, men tend to have occasional discharge in urine due to an enlarged prostate gland.
Recent infection: A viral or bacterial infection in children could lead to a kidney inflammation which causes blood discharge.
Family history: If kidney diseases or kidney stones are common in your family history, you might be prone to urinary bleeding.
Strenuous exercise: Excessive workout or running could also induce urinary bleeding.
