As backcountry skiing becomes increasingly popular, it's more important than ever to have an education and enforcement presence in the Colorado mountains to help ensure safe and responsible recreation. The Colorado Mountain Club Snow Ranger program aims to do just that. The Snow Rangers assist in patrolling, visitor education, user counts, partnership development, and more.

During the 2020/2021 Snow Ranger season, Brian Ducay and Kricket Olin patrolled the northern San Juan Mountains in this united program for the US Forest Service and Colorado Mountain Club.

This short film about the Snow Rangers and all of the important work that they did debuted at Backcountry Film Festival this year and was shown across Colorado and the country.

Thank you to Phil Hüffeldt and the team at Wool Hat Creative for their impactful work on our Snow Ranger film. Wool Hat Creative is a mission and value-driven media and storytelling company.
