There are three things that you need to understand about ABS:

One. Anti-lock braking means the motorcycle can detect that you're about to skid while braking and protect you by unlocking that wheel many times a second. This gives you more control in a panic situation as well as when braking in slippery conditions.

Two. Single-channel ABS is a loophole the Indian government created when they're ABS law which doesn't say that both wheels should have it. The front brake is where the action is in most of your riding. Most Indians, unfortunately, use the rear brake -- a mistake. Single-channel ABS has its heart in the right place (and it's cheaper) but riders who refuse to upgrade their skills will find it nearly useless.

Three. Motorcycle ABS still needs the rider to have skills, car systems overcome this with extra grip and weight. If you grab the brakes on an ABS motorcycle, you won't skid and fall, but the motorcycle can feel like it's taking longer to stop. The trick is squeeze progressively instead.
