This is the longplay of the Dragon's Lair game, an action and platform game released in the United States and Europe for the Super Nintendo in 1990, developed by MotiveTime and distributed by Data East (USA) and Elite (Europe).

Dragon's Lair first appeared in 1983, with one of the first laserdisc electronic games, released by Cinematronics. It is an interactive animation, whose designer was Don Bluth, a former Disney animator. In interactive animation, the player controls a knight named Dirk the Daring on a rescue mission to Princess Daphne. Each stage was divided into cartoon scenes with command selections. If the selection was correct, the scene and the story unfolded. If the selection was wrong, it showed a scene of Dirk dying or suffering a bad fate appropriately. This device was later used in other games like Space Ace and Time Gal.

When it went to consoles, the game received different versions. The NES, was considered one of the worst ever, being massacred by critics for the unfair level of difficulty and terrible gameplay. The SNES version is considered much better, having a fairer level of difficulty and stages with several exits.

This is the SNES version. Our hero Dirk must pass through the stages, using ranged weapons and his sword to overcome challenges and save Princess Dapne from the clutches of an evil dragon. Ranged weapons are axes, daggers and shurikens (this requires care when used, as it can return and cause damage to the hero) and the short-range weapon is Dirk's powerful sword, which can be used to destroy most enemies with one stroke, but the sword does not work against bosses.

The SNES version is an action and platform game. It is not an epic game, but it managed to be relatively better than the terrible version of NES.
