Описание к видео Funeral Service - Arlo Driesen

Mr. Arlo Driesen, age 67, of Alton, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the Sanford USD Medical Center and Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Arlo Lee was born on July 1, 1958, in Sioux Center, the second youngest of ten children born to Edward J. and Elsiena (Kooima) Driesen. He grew up on a farm northwest of Rock Valley and attended the Rock Valley Christian School. When Arlo was thirteen years old, his parents moved the family to a farm near Hornick, and later to a farm near Marcus, where he completed his education.

In 1988, Arlo moved to Alton, where he purchased his home and worked for OC Sanitation in Orange City. He spent many of his weekends competing in tractor pulling events—his friends and family from all over would follow him to each event, cheering for a “full pull” as they watched him scream down the track on “Whitey”, his tractor. Prior to moving to Alton, Arlo worked for Wetherell Manufacturing in Cleghorn. During that time, the Wetherell team sponsored his tractor in pulling competitions, supporting him on the track alongside his family and friends.

Mr. Driesen was an avid NASCAR fan and loved Ford cars and trucks. Beyond the races, he enjoyed riding his bike and visiting with anyone he met. Arlo had many nieces and nephews he liked to pick on and joke with—his friends' kids, too. He would often find and fix up bikes, dirt bikes, and anything else he thought they would enjoy. He also had a love for dogs and always had a companion or two with him at home.

He is survived by four siblings, Sam Driesen, of Rock Valley; Harlan Driesen, and his wife, Priscilla, of Doon; Joann, and her husband, Larry Bauder, of Hawarden; and Glenn Driesen, and his wife, Cindy, of Aurelia; two sisters-in-law, Jean Driesen, of Hawarden; and Florence, and her husband, Lee Vink, of Rock Valley; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepmother, Blanch Driesen; five brothers, Jim Driesen; Ted Driesen, and his wife, Arlene; Duane Driesen; Allen Driesen; and Lyle Driesen; a sister-in-law, Joan Driesen; and a special nephew, David Driesen.
