Elton John - Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting (Alex Hamel Cover)

Probably one of my favourite Elton John tunes to play. Although, you know, the great thing about Elton John's music is it covers such a variety of emotions, thoughts and states of mind. From sweet and somber moments to total recklessness I always find something to relate to, something I can feel too. Obviously, having grown up with the Lion King (it was in fact the first movie I ever saw at the cinema), that was probably my first introduction to Elton John. And then, years later, I made the connection with 'Your Song'. And then came 'Tiny Dancer'. And after that I stumbled upon 'Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting', after which came a downpour of gems he and Bernie Taupin composed together through the years. A treasure of songs. Although, the one thing I admire Elton John most for is his timelessness. His songs don't really grow old. They could've been released yesterday and done just as well. And unlike some musicians who frown upon newer generations, he always stays in touch and is always supportive, and at the same time, always a realist. Gotta love him. Thank you Sir Elton John for being such a huge influence on me.
