We’re in Thailand for two weeks, and we’re excited to take you with us to Bangkok, Phuket, and Chiang Mai. In this video, we’ll be showing you around Bangkok and hitting up these places (listed in order of appearance in the video):

00 Intro

01 Hotel room walkthrough: Where we’re staying: LiT Bangkok - centrally located in the Sukhumvit area (lots of food, nightlife, shopping, and entertainment). It’s also walking distance to Emporium (a huge shopping center) and right next to the BTS skyline for convenient public transit access.

08 7-Eleven: The 7-Elevens in Asia are superior to the ones found in the US (and I will stand by this statement!), and the food here is actually really good + cheap. I recommend the paninis and sticky rice burgers. Their coffee is also top notch.

07 MBK Shopping Center: MBK Center is a large and famous shopping mall near the National Stadium and BTS Siam station in Bangkok. Great for souvenir shopping and you’ll also find lots of dining options here.

08 Don Don Donki: Inside MBK is a floor dedicated to Japanese discount store chain Don Don Donki which sells groceries, snacks, anime merch, household goods, and fresh food (sushi, donburis, bentos, etc.).

20 Chinatown: Great place to find Chinese-Thai fusion food, but when we went, the places on our list sadly weren’t open. However, we came across the Vegetarian Festival and we checked out the street food stalls.

53 IconSiam: Vast, stylish mall with hundreds of high-end shops & restaurants, plus an indoor floating market on the ground floor that has some incredible food.

29 Sushiro: A Japanese multinational conveyor belt sushi specialty restaurant. It’s located inside IconSiam and offers pretty decent and affordable sushi.

31 Baan ThaTien Cafe: One of the few places open super early for breakfast near the Grand Palace and Wat Pho temple. They have AC inside - which is a blessing in this hot weather. I really enjoyed their omelet rice. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restauran...

29 Wat Pho Temple / Giant Reclining Buddha: Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram Ratchaworamahawihan, more commonly referred to as Wat Pho, is one of the six temples in Thailand that are of the highest grade of first class Royal temples. Wat Pho serves as home to the massive 46-meter long reclining Buddha image - which is what it’s primarily famous for. It’s also right next to the Grand Palace, so super convenient to see both tourist attractions in one day.

01 The Grand Palace: The Grand Palace is a complex of government/administrative buildings and temples at the heart of Bangkok, Thailand. The palace has been the official residence of the Kings of Siam (and later Thailand) since 1782. The temple inside is also where the Emerald Buddha (the most sacred Buddha statue in Thailand) is housed.

38 Emporium / EmQuartier: Emporium is a sophisticated 6-story mall in Sukhumvit. The mall houses world-renowned designer brands, a luxurious movie theater, and a state-of-the-art exhibition space, as well as an expansive supermarket and food court. It also features a super cool dining building “Helix Dining” that boasts 50 restaurants to choose from.

40 Thong Smith Boat Noodles: Boat Noodles are a Thai-style noodle dish with a rich and aromatic flavor. It contains both pork and beef, as well as dark soy sauce, pickled bean curd, and some other spices, and is normally served with meatballs and pig's liver. This particular restaurant does it very well (I see a lot of locals eating here) and it’s located on the 7th level in the Helix Building at the Emquartier. https://wanderingforfood.com/tongsmit...

07 Divana Scentuara Spa – book through KKDAY for a discount

59 Pantaree Restaurant: Somewhat hidden, out of the way local restaurant serving authentic Thai homestyle dishes. Highly recommend the crab curry!

36 Terminal 21: The mall is designed to look like an airport, complete with a shopping guide that looks like a passport. I’ve been told you can even check-in for your upcoming flight on the main floor. It’s nine-story complex and its themed floors that will transport you from Tokyo to Istanbul to San Francisco, all in one day.

38 Soi Cowboy Road: A lively nightlife spot in Bangkok, stretching for almost 500 feet and filled with colorful go-go bars on one side and bustling nightclubs on the other.

Yes, we went to a LOT of places within just 2-3 days (we were very tired lol). And this is just part one of our Bangkok trip – stay tuned for more in part two.
