A Coffee Scoop / Tamper - Woodturning

Описание к видео A Coffee Scoop / Tamper - Woodturning

Hello and welcome! In this weeks video I will be using a woodturning lathe to make a coffee scoop and tamper to replace a poorly fitting plastic one that came with the machine.

Initially it was supposed to be longer but as you will see, I haven't had a lot of sphere turning experience so the scoop kept getting smaller and smaller so I shortened it and started again.

Once shaped it was parted off and taken to the belt sander to tidy the tamper side and flatten an edge for the scoop. I then used a couple of scrap pieces of oak and with a little trial and error, made a chuck to hold the scoop for hollowing.

A few coats of sanding sealer to finish and straight into use.
