Jesus sent two disciples, saying,
“Go to the village ahead of you.
At once you’ll find a donkey waiting,
With her colt right there beside her too.
Untie them both and bring them to Me,
Fulfilling prophecy so you may believe.”

Daughter of Zion, hurry, come see,
Your King, your Messiah, comes faithfully.
On a donkey He rides, humble and true,
With her colt, entering Jerusalem’s view.

As Jesus approached, His tears began to fall,
For the city, the pain, and the lost most of all.
If you’d only know what would bring you peace,
Now it’s hidden from your eyes — you didn’t believe.

They went and did as Jesus had asked them,
Brought the donkey and colt to Jerusalem.
Placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on,
The city waking up just after dawn.
