Amongst the tribes “Binjhal community” occupies an important position in the field of folk
dance, who lives at the foothill of Vindhya Mountain at the Western part of Odisha. In many traditional
ceremonies they used to perform a very typical and exciting dance named “Lahaki”, which comprises
of many sweet-full dances such as: Janhiphula, Jayiphula etc. The dance “Janhiphula” is performed
with very attractive rhythm with typical footwork and body movements which thrash wonderfully
gracious glamour supported by sweet song of beautiful patterns.
