Massages can be very therapeutic and help relieve stress and make you feel much better. During pregnancy, there's no other time when you need a stress relief more. So a massage can be a good thing but it's very important to make sure that the massage therapist who's going to do the massage knows that you're pregnant. Make sure that they're certified by some sort of national body, like the American Massage Therapy Association, because that helps to ensure they've had special training in prenatal massage. They should be careful about how they position you. You shouldn't be lying on your back and they shouldn't massage your belly. That can pose certain complications or risks. As long as they know that you're pregnant, they should take the proper precautions.
