How to measure Film Thickness with the byko-cut?

- Draw a black line perpendicular to the cut direction -- 0:24
- Select the correct cutting tool by rotating the blade holder -- 0:33
- Apply sufficient pressure to cut through the paint film to the substrate -- 0:39
- Turn on the LED light to illuminate the surface -- 0:51
- Locate the cut line through the microscope -- 0:59
- Analysis -- 1:11
Align the scale to measure the coating layers
Count the numbers of lines for each coating layer
Calculate the film thickness by using the conversion table in the operating manual

How to test Hardness with the byko-cut? -- 1:39

- Draw a black line for marking the measuring position -- 1:40
- Select the correct cutting tool by rotating the blade holder -- 1:47
- Place the byko-cut equipped with slip-on weight on measuring position -- 1:52
- Leave instrument 30 sec. in this position -- 2:02
- Turn on the LED light to illuminate the surface -- 2:22
- Locate the cut line through the microscope -- 2:26
- Analysis -- 2:32
Measure of indentation length using the built-in microscope

How to measure Adhesion with the byko-cut? -- 2:45

- Select the correct cutting tool by rotating the blade holder -- 2:48
- Make a lattice pattern in the film by cutting to the substrate -- 2:53
- Brush 5 times in diagonal directions -- 3:21
- For certain substrates the additional usage of a tape is recommended -- 3:28
- Turn on the LED light to illuminate the surface -- 3:33
- Examine the grid area using the microscope -- 3:40
- Analysis -- 3:50
