प्लास्टिक सर्जरी के दो मुख्य प्रकार हैं:

पुनर्निर्माण सर्जरी: यह सर्जरी किसी चोट, जन्मजात विकृति या बीमारी के कारण हुए नुकसान की मरम्मत के लिए की जाती है। इसमें जलने, कैंसर, दुर्घटना आदि के कारण हुए नुकसान को ठीक करना शामिल हो सकता है।

प्लास्टिक सर्जरी क्यों की जाती है?
शारीरिक रूप में सुधार: कई लोग अपनी शारीरिक बनावट से असंतुष्ट होते हैं। प्लास्टिक सर्जरी उन्हें अधिक आत्मविश्वास और संतुष्टि प्रदान कर सकती है।
चोट या बीमारी के कारण हुए नुकसान की मरम्मत: जलने, कैंसर, दुर्घटना आदि के कारण हुए नुकसान को ठीक करने के लिए प्लास्टिक सर्जरी की जाती है।
जन्मजात विकृति को ठीक करना: कुछ लोगों में जन्म से ही कुछ शारीरिक विकृतियां होती हैं। प्लास्टिक सर्जरी इन विकृतियों को ठीक करने में मदद कर सकती है।
