I’m working on old projects and practicing a new stitch. A beginner friendly stitch called the Chevron or Zigzag.

Waffle blanket
Row 1. Make a single chain as long as you want the blanket to be. (Odd number plus 3 chains at the end) and turn your work.

Row 2. Start with the 2nd chain, Double crochet until the end, chain 3 at the end and turn your work.

Row 3. One double crochet into the top of the next stitch, 1 double crochet around the post (in front of the next stitch), 2 double crochets into the top of the next 2 stitches, 1 around the post, and continue 2 doubles and 1 post until the end. And end with 2 double crochets, chain 3, turn your work.

Row 4. Two double crochet into the top of the next 2 stitches, 2 around the post, 1 double crochet, 2 double crochet around the post, continue 1 double and 2 around the post and end with 3 double crochet, chain three, turn your work.

Row 5. Repeat Row 3- One double crochet into the top of the next stitch, 1 double crochet around the post (in front of the next stitch), 2 double crochets into the top of the next 2 stitches, 1 around the post, and continue 2 doubles and 1 post until the end. And end with 2 double crochets, chain 3, turn your work.

Row 6. Repeat Row 4- Two double crochet into the top of the next 2 stitches, 2 around the post, 1 double crochet, 2 double crochet around the post, continue 1 double and 2 around the post and end with 3 double crochet, chain three, turn your work.

*if you miss a stitch on row 3, add an extra double at the end before you chain 3 & turn your work.
