Approached by a rather mysterious ghoul named Edward Deegan, the Sole Survivor has an opportunity to work for the even more mysterious Cabot family.

Possibly one of the cleanest locations in the entire Commonwealth (barring the Institute), the Cabot House's fresh, clean look resonates with its occupants.

Once introduced to his new employer, Jack Cabot, the Sole Survivor must travel to Parsons State Insane Asylum and speak to the guard captain. She will direct the Sole Survivor to recover a stolen package and to kill the thieves. Once the package containing a mysterious serum has been recovered it must be brought back to Edward Deegan at the Cabot House.

Upon returning to the Cabot House with the serum in hand, the Sole Survivor becomes a trusted employee of the Cabot Family. Edward Deegan’s new task is to locate their missing family member, Emogene Cabot. Where has she disappeared is unknown. Through investigative conversations with the bartender and pub singer at The Third Rail in Goodneighbor, it seems that Emogene has gotten herself involved with a fraudulent religious cult.

A short walk to the Charles View Amphitheatre reveals where the shady leader Brother Thomas and his brainwashed group of followers are holed up. Speaking with Thomas presents various results: bribery, persuasion or threatening him. Alternatively, the locked door in his office can be picked to set Emogene free.

After Emogene is freed, she’ll tell the Sole Survivor the purpose of the serum and then return home. On arrival at the Cabot house to receive his payment for services rendered, the Sole Survivor sees Jack speaking to Edward over a ham radio. Edward is overrun defending the asylum from raiders, badly injured and requesting backup. Jack decides to head there himself along with the Sole Survivor as his hired gun to thwart the raiders.

During the trip to Parsons State Insane Asylum, Jack tells the Sole Survivor that his father, Lorenzo, is imprisoned within the facility. He also reveals that his father has been kept alive for centuries because of an ancient artifact that has altered his body chemistry. He also contains powers of telekenesis. Jack further states that his father must not be released from his prison by the raiders at all costs.

Once the raiders have been dealt with, the Sole Survivor must make an important decision regarding Lorenzo Cabot, either to kill him or set him free.

Setting Lorenzo free from his prison will result in a wacky showdown at the Cabot House with different outcomes depending on whom the Sole Survivor sides with. One can either choose to fight alongside Jack/Wilhelmina/Emogene/Edward or alternatively, Lorenzo.
