DONA PAULA: Low winds in the morning session of Day 1 at the Sail Goa 2025 organised by Goa Yachting Association at Dona Paula caused the races to be postponed to the afternoon session with gusting winds from 9 to 14 knots.

All the windsurfing classes i.e. Techno 293 and Raceboard, faced ideal racing circumstances testing their skills against strong current and medium winds to power their sails.

The Olympic Class iQFOiL started late, but the first race had to abandoned as winds dropped. The race committee changed the course to a Slalom. At the end of Day 1 the results were as following:

In the Raceboard Men’s event, veteran Windsurfer Chennaiah from EMESC Bhopal Army Club displayed by he is still the best by taking the gun in all the 3 races of the day ahead of Mithilesh Kumar of Army Yacthing Node, Mumbai and Kamlapti of EMESC, Bhopal.

In the Raceboard U21 Boys category, Raj Santosh Patil of Yachting Association of Maharshtra (YAM), took all 3 guns followed closely by Narayan Munda of Odisha Yachting Association in second place and Sai Patil of YAM in Third.

In the Raceboard U21 Girls category Tejassui Prajapati of NSS Bhopal is leading with 2 guns and 1 while in second place is Prarthna Bhoi of NSS Bhopal with 1 gun and 2 second place and M. K. Pragathi of TNSA is in a close third place.

In the Techno U15 Girls category Naavya Kaku of YAM with two guns is leading Vaishnavi Kajale MG&G Area Sailing club of Army and Priyanshi Patil of YAM.

In the Techno 293OD U15 Boys category Udaiveer Singh Johal of MG&G Area Sailing club has taken the lead with 2 guns while Mohit Mhatre of YAM is in second place with 1 gun and Sohan Rajput of NSS Bhopal is in Third place.

With winds expecting to pick up in the next few days the championship is poised for an exciting turn.
