After successfully hosting the Asia Cup, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is now determined to take on the prestigious Champions Trophy as well, according to Najam Sethi, Chairman of the PCB Management Committee. Sethi revealed that the Asian Cricket Council (ICC) has approved Pakistan's presented hybrid model, setting the stage for a remarkable cricketing event.

Scheduled to take place from August 31 to September 17, the Asia Cup will witness four matches held in Pakistan, while the remaining nine matches will be played in Sri Lanka. This marks Pakistan's first time hosting the Asia Cup since 2008, and Sethi expressed gratitude to the Asian Cricket Council for endorsing the hybrid model.

Emphasizing their commitment to delivering exceptional hosting and arrangements, the Chairman of the PCB Management Committee highlighted how Pakistan Cricket Board aims to showcase its capabilities by welcoming renowned teams and players. These next 20 months hold tremendous significance for cricket enthusiasts across the subcontinent.

However, it is worth noting that Jay Shah, the head of the Indian Cricket Board and the Asian Cricket Council, has persistently opposed sending the Indian team to Pakistan. India's stance is that they will neither play in Pakistan nor in the United Arab Emirates, and instead, the Asia Cup will be held in the Emirates.

The Asia Cup, hosted by Pakistan, will witness the participation of teams from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal. While four matches of the tournament are scheduled to be held at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium, the remaining nine matches will be played in Sri Lanka. In the event that the Indian team reaches the final, the ultimate showdown will also be held in Sri Lanka.
